Glaydah Namukasa





Glaydah Namukasa Bwogi is a PhD candidate in the comparative literature department at UC Irvine. She holds an MFA in creative writing from UC Riverside, and a BS in Community Psychology from Makerere University, Uganda. She has served as chair of the Board of the Uganda Women Writers Association, FEMRITE. Her publications include a novel, The Deadly Ambition, and a novella, Voice of a Dream which was awarded the Macmillan Writers Prize for Africa in 2006 in the Young-Adult category. Her short stories have been published in Uganda, South Africa, the UK, the US, and Sweden. She is an honorary Fellow of The International Writing Program, University of Iowa, and in 2014 she was selected on the Hay Festival Africa39 list of writers to influence future trends in African Literature. April 2018, she received the URSB award for Ugandan Women in Literary Creativity.
